Get Organized in the New Year with GTD and Action Lists

Every year one of the most popular New Year’s resolutions is to “get organized,” and every year thousands of people abandon their hope of getting their act together after just a few weeks. They don’t fail because of a lack of desire; they fail to get organized because they just don’t know how to do it. Desire itself won’t get you organized—it takes a process and the proper tools. This year I’ve decided to do something to help people achieve their goal, so Daze End Software is going to help give people both the process and the tools they need to make 2011 a more organized year than 2010.

On January 1, I’m going to give three people an iBook edition of David Allen’s best-selling book Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity and copies of Action Lists for iPhone and Action Lists for iPad. Getting Things Done® is one of the most comprehensive and powerful personal productivity systems around and has been making people’s lives more sane for the last ten years. Action Lists is one of the best software packages for Getting Things Done® available on the iPhone and iPad, taking the power of GTD® and making it easier and more convenient to use. Together, they’re a powerful package that can help bring organization to even the most stressful life.

To enter the contest, all you have to do is reply to this post and submit a comment telling the world why you need to get more organized in the new year or how GTD® has already helped you become more productive. From the responses received, three responses will be chosen at random and their authors will win a complete productivity package from Daze End Software. The winners will each receive an iBook edition of David Allen’s Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity, as well as Action Lists for the iPhone and Action Lists for iPad—together over a $40 value. Winners will be notified by email and will be announced here on January 1.

Here’s the fine print: Winners will be chosen from all replies to this post as of Noon (EST) on January 1, 2011 that tell their personal productivity story. Limit one entry per person. Make sure that you include a valid email address so I can get in touch if you win. iBook downloads can only be redeemed with a U.S. iTunes account. Action Lists and Action Lists for iPad can be downloaded worldwide. Action Lists and its maker are not affiliated with, approved or endorsed by David Allen or the David Allen Company, which is the creator of the Getting Things Done® system for personal productivity.
